*CREW COMPETES AT MYSTIC SEAPORT*
On Saturday, April 24, the Glastonbury High School Crew rowed against Stonington and Farmington High Schools on a 1500 meter course at Mystic Seaport. The course ran from the small white lighthouse at the seaport to the I-95 bridge.
In the first race of the day, GHS got its lone first place finish when the novice girls outrowed Stonington and Farmington to win by about 19 seconds, or over 4 lengths.
The varsity girls lost by 2 or 3 lengths to Stonington, but beat Farmington, while the varsity boys also lost to Stonington (by 1/2 length), and beat Farmington. In a JV boys race, the Glastonbury boat was involved in a collision near the end of the course and was unable to finish.
The next two regattas are at Seaboard Marina in South Glastonbury. On May 5th we will be visited by Middletown High School, and on May 8th we will host Litchfield and Farmington.
