USED BOATS CONNECTICUT : Without getting into particulars, your stated "fact" that you have not hadproblems selling or trading in a particular brand of boat does not refute thefact that many dealers will NOT accept that brand in trade.Further, how would you go about proving that dealers X, Y or Z will not takethat brand in trade? It isn't something they are likely to advertise. Some mighttell you ahead of time if you called, others might not.Hell, way back when, my father the boat dealer would not take certain brands inon trade because, in his experience, they'd need too much refurbishing and betoo likely to have serious failures under the 90-day used rig warranty heoffered. I have no recollection of the particular brand in question way backthen. Perhaps it wasn't sold in the Connecticut Long Island Sound area where weboated.

You willfind many of the brand at the strictly used smaller boat sales lots or onconsignment lots.Another factor that might discourage trade-ins is the very ownership of theboat. Because that brand is perceived as the low-price boat (an incorrectperception, I might add), it is the most popular brand sought byunknowledgeable, first-time boat buyers. These types of buyers are much morelikely to damage the hulls, overstress the engines and avoid regularmaintenance. Atthis time, these states are Alabama, Connecticut, Kansas, Maine,Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire,Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Inthose states, sellers have implied warranty obligations that cannot beavoided."

If I find something was messed up on the boat and may have beenrepaired badly, does the implied warrenty all of a sudden fix it right. Idoubt it. The "grey areas" such as"what is a reasonable speed" sometimes has to be decided by the courts. Also, note that it also does not cover damage due to neglect, abuse, etc. sothe idea of blowing the engine and asking for a new one is covered.
